What is Marble Armor?

Marble Armor is a clear protective polyurethane film that can be applied to stone surfaces to prevent stains, etching and bruising due to heavy impact.

What type of stone can Marble Armor be applied on?

Any stone that is prone to staining, etching or chipping will benefit from Marble Armor.  This includes:

Marble - Any color and most textures. Leathered, antiqued, flamed, etc... 

Granite

Quartz

Quartzite 

Limestone

Soapstone

Concrete

Onyx

Will Marble Armor prevent stains, etches and chipping?

Yes

Is Marble Armor a liquid?

No

Can Marble Armor wrap around the edges?

Yes, Marble Armor can wrap over the edge of countertops. 

What cleaning chemicals can I use on Marble Armor?

Marble Armor will not be damaged by using typical household cleaners. To clean the surface use a microfiber cloth and nonabrasive cleaner.

Is Marble Armor heat resistant?

Yes, Marble Armor has withstand temperatures up to 400F.

How often does Marble Armor need to be replaced?

Replacement frequency will vary depending on the level of traffic and use but the stone will continue to be protected from staining, etching and chipping.  Residential customers typically replace Marble Armor every 6-10 years simply based on aesthetic.  Bars and restaurants approximately 1-4 years and hospitality customers approximately 3-5 years. 

Does Marble Armor installation create odors?

Installation does not create odors or VOCs.  Marble Armor is environmentally safe.

How quickly can I use my counters after an installation?

Countertops can be lightly used within 2 hours after an install.  Full bond takes approximately 72 hours.

Does Marble Armor turn yellow over time?

No

How long is the Warranty?

The Marble Armor warranty guarantees that our stone protection film will not yellow, blister, bubble, or delaminate for at least 10 years. As a reminder, the warranty does not include scratches, cuts, or peeling from repetitive rubbing or picking at the edges. Always use a cutting board and trivet under hot items. ⁠

How to clean and care for Marble Armor?
  • After installation you must wait 48 hours to clean the countertops.

  • Any drips or stains need to be removed, as soon as, possible with a neutral cleaner.  

  • Never use an abrasive cleaner on the film.

  • Stubborn stains can be removed with 99% isopropyl alcohol. 

  • Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.

  • Avoid using high-pressure water near the edges of the film, it can cause the film to lift and/or become damaged.
